Sale-A-Bration is getting closer!

When I ordered this Just Jawing stamp set, I didn't see myself using it... but I've been having fun branching out!! I used it below with the Yummy stamp set (one of the sets you can pick for FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order). I also pulled out my Chunky Glitter for the bow and the heart eyes.Want to know how I did the little cut-outs to make the card 3-d? After stamping the skull image, I used my Hobby Blade to cut around the ends of the bones, and popped them up. It's all one layer--just trimmed around the ends to let them pop out and add dimension. Oh yes, and those stars are part of the Just Jawing stamp set.

Yes, Sale-A-Bration begins in just 2 days!! Did I mention that when you sign up as a demonstrator during Sale-A-Bration, you get a bonus stamp set for FREE? Not just one of the cute SAB choices, but ANY STAMP SET from the catalog! So you could pick one of those $47.95 stamp sets like Define Your Life :-) If you want more details, just drop me an email: meg@lovenstamps.com

Stamps in the Mail Club: Project Peek

Are you thinking about my Stamps in the Mail Club? Then you might want to check out this video--it shows the 'wow' project that everyone will make in February as part of the club.

I've had a couple of questions about what the projects will be like, and I wanted to state that they'll be very flexible. I know that lots of different people sign up for my Stamps in the Mail Club, so I try to keep the card projects general. You can stamp pretty much any sentiment inside them and have a birthday/thank you/thinking of you card ready to go. The same is true of the 'wow' project each month. The February 'wow' is a flexible photo book that anyone can use. Examples of past projects have been candy tins, folding boxes, and other cool 'wow's.

If you have questions about the content or any of the supplies, please don't hesitate to ask me :-)

For full details, visit my website at:

Sale-A-Bration is almost HERE!

Yup, starting on Sunday, February 1st, the fun begins! Wait, we're having fun already, right? Guess this will just be MORE fun :-)

This is a notebook that I created for everyone to make at my Demonstrators & Desserts Night this evening. If you live in the Champaign area and want to join us, just let me know! Come on over to make your notebook and learn more about being part of my Stampin' Up! demonstrator family!
The notebook uses the new Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper (one of the items you can pick for FREE with a $50 order from February 1st til March 31st), along with the Polka Dot Punches stamp set (flower embellishment and backgrounds). I also tied in the Serif Essentials Alphabet Big Shot Die set for the monogram letter. I LOVE this alphabet tool :-)

Here's another sample of one of the new Sale-A-Bration stamp sets--'Yummy'. I used it for the "a little Something" saying and the cute swirly on the topper. These are little gift packets of goodies using the Sweet Always Designer Series Paper, and I included the die-cut letters (see, it's the Serif Essentials Alphabet again!) that can be added to cards or scrapbook pages.

Love You Much Shaker Card Video Tutorial

Raspberry Tart Notebook and Pencil Holder

I think these are my new favorite colors--I LOVE the Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper! On the left is a cute notebook that Rae Anne Littrell (a demonstrator in my LovenStampfuls group) created for a special invitation-only shoebox swap that I hold for my Stampin' Up! demonstrators. Isn't it cute? And on the right is a cute pencil holder that my friend Kim Peck created. How did she know that this is my favorite new paper? :-)

Movers & Shakers Curly Label Ideas

One of the big questions at my Open House last weekend was, "how the heck does this thing work?" So I created a sample on the spot to show what this die can do!

This is what I created. I started with a piece of Pretty in Pink 6x12 cardstock and let the Movers & Shakers Curly Label die cut and score my card for me. I forgot to put my strip of Bella Rose Designer Series Paper on at the same time as the cardstock, so I actually just put a 2x5" strip of the paper across the open part of the die and put it through my Big Shot. Even though I was using a scrap, the paper cut just fine! So no, you don't have to use a whole piece of 6x12" cardstock to make this die work.

For the embellishments, I added a layer of Riding Hood Red cardstock inside the card, punched the front bottom edge of the card with the Eyelet Border Punch and stamped and punched the greeting using the Curly Punch Die (you can see it through the hole). Last embellishment? A piece of Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.

New Catalog Showcase Party Recap

Want to see some fun samples? These are a few of the projects that were on display at my New Catalog Showcase Party this past Saturday morning. I enjoyed visiting with everyone who came!!

If you are still wanting a chance to see the new catalog and do some stamping, be sure to attend my Sale-A-Bration Open House on Friday, February 6th in Champaign, Illinois. I'll have many of these samples there, plus more!!

This scrapbook page uses the new Fine Supernova Glitter along with the new Sticky Cuts Sweet for the tree. I learned a great trick for applying that tree: don't remove the pieces from the sheet until after they're stuck on your project!

Here's one more reason to 'need' the Beautiful Butterflies Big Shot Die, along with the new Texturz Plates and the Eyelet Border Punch and the cute crocheted Fleurettes. Oh, and of course that gorgeous Simple Friendship stamp set!!

These were the Make N Take projects from the Stampin 'Up! Leadership conference in Orlando earlier this month. I love this Good Friend stamp set, and the matching On Board So Tweet. The Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper is the perfect complement.

These are little cone favors that I made for people who set up dates for home parties. If you want one of these, you can still get one!! They're created with the from Scallop Circle Big Shot Die from the new Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper. The little stamp set I used is new, too: Garden Greetings and it has really flexible words PLUS the funky flowers. Oh, and did I mention that I received it for FREE?! Yet another perk of being a demonstrator--this was the stamp set we received at the Manager's Reception at Leadership in Orlando!

This cutie card is from the set of Make N Takes above... more of that cute On Board So Tweet chipboard set! These little owls are darling, and you get 8 of them in the chipboard set, so it's easy to make multiples of cards!

And here is a fun gift bag in the new Manhattan Style. The papers are from the Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper and you can't miss the Corduroy Button in Kiwi Kiss, plus the new little Stampin' Up! Lots of Tags Big Shot Sizzlets that I used to make that little oval tag with the funky border. LOVE it!

And I haven't even shown you the Make N Takes that everyone got to create and take home... watch for more this week!

Big Shot Butterfly Playtime

Did I say "playtime"? Wait... this is my job... I meant WORK!! ;-)
Oh, and this is just a small taste of what I have in store for my New Catalog Showcase Party tomorrow... don't miss it if you live near me!! (see details here)

Just check out all those fun supplies, just BEGGING to come out of the box and play with me!! Wow, what to try out first? <>

Here's what I tried first! That Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies die (114507, $21.95) for the Big Shot practically jumped out of the box. You can see two of the butterflies here, including the background one where I used the Stampin' Up! Exclusive Backgrounds I Texturz Plate (114512, $11.95 for a set of 6), of course also for the Big Shot. I also added texture to the Whisper White background (little polka dots) but it's harder to spot in the picture.

My First Butterfly Card:
Here's my supply list:
Big Shot Dies:
  • NEW! Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies Die
  • NEW! Stampin' Up! Exclusive Backgrounds I Texturz Plate
  • Scallop Circle
Stamp Sets:
  • NEW! Sweet Little Sentiments (Level 1 Hostess Exclusive set--get it FREE with a $150 order!)
  • Papers:
  • Whisper White
  • Kiwi Kiss
  • Pretty in Pink
  • NEW! Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper
Accessories:
  • Regal Rose Classic Ink Pad
  • NEW! Pig Tails Ribbon Originals (the kiwi polka dot ribbon)
  • Pretty in Pink 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Large Oval Punch
  • Stampin' Dimesionals
Here's another version of the same card... I had the Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper Scallop Die Cut frames left from another project, and they were just begging me to use them on these butterfly cards...

Therefore the Elegant Butterfly Card:

The supply list for the card above is pretty similar... just add the Simple Friendship Stamp Set (which is the stamp set for my Stamps in the Mail Club beginning in February--check details), and I used the Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain Ribbon here, plus White Taffeta Ribbon for the butterfly body, and ink pads in Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose.

And I was on such a roll that I decided to try one more card! I wanted to do something a little bolder--with more of a 'kick' in the colors, so I focused on the Cameo Coral in the Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper.

My Bold Butterfly Card:
Here the stamp set featured (see the flowers in the background and the greeting) is Good Friend (113740, $28.95). I didn't use the bird from the set here, but I'm falling in love with the flowers! Oh, and the NEW Kiwi Kiss Corduroy Buttons (114338, $9.95)--YIKES are they fun, or what?! And the good 'ol Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon complemented the card perfectly. Ink colors here were Cameo Coral, Regal Rose, and cardstock was Regal Rose, Cameo Coral, Kiwi Kiss and Pretty in Pink, plus Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper again.

I couldn't resist taking a tutorial picture... when I added these butterflies, I mounted them on Stampin' Dimensionals to make them pop. I actually layered 2 dimensionals to get a jumbo pop.

Ever see a sample and not have the inks or paper colors you need? Well these three cards are a lesson on how to take a design and tweak it to fit what you have on hand. And if you don't have the Beautiful Butterflies Big Shot die yet, well, then you're just going to have to order it ;-)

Watch for more this week! I'm going back to WORK now, but wanted to share! ;-)

Oh, and if you love these cards, and want to make them at home, check out my upcoming Beautiful Butterflies Class!!

Movers & Shakers Curly Label Big Shot Die

Are you trying to figure out how this die works? I was so excited when I saw it in the catalog, and even more thrilled to see a demonstration on stage at the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference in Orlando 2 weeks ago.

I'm telling you... going to Stampin' Up! events (Leadership and Convention) is SO informative--I never miss them, even though I've been to Leadership at least 5 times and Convention at least 6 times! I always learn something new!! (usually a LOT new ;-)Anyway, back to the Big Shot... this die comes with 2 pieces... the base part, which actually cuts your card for you, and the moveable magnet part, which creates a hole just slightly larger than the Curly Label Punch. Plus it adds those cute little perforations.

You can move the punch part around so that it cuts a hole anywhere you like on the front of the card--isn't that COOL!? So stinkin' cool!! :-)
Here's the finished card, using the new Playful Petals stamp set (113728, $28.95). Love it!!

Stamping Cookies?!

How do you use YOUR Stampin' Up! supplies? I use mine for everything in my life!
These are the birthday cookies that my daughter Abby took to preschool to hand out to her friends. She was excited to share a personalized treat with everyone, and I needed a cute way to package the cookies without smooshing (technical term ;-) the frosting that we had applied.

That's where the Stampin' Up! Large Cello Bags and Grosgrain Ribbon came in handy!

So you never know--keep those supplies nearby... they come in handy at the funniest times!

NEW brads, punches and circle cutter

How many of these NEW products can YOU name?
If you can name 6, you've been studying your new Spring/Summer 2009 Catalog (maybe a bit too much ;-) But seriously, aren't they YUMMY? The Corduroy Buttons, Fleurettes (114019, crocheted flowers--they're handmade!!), Flower Assortment Designer Brads (112583), Hooray Designer Hardware (114351)--they're all fabulous. And don't you love that double-sided Kiwi Kiss ribbon from the Pig Tails Ribbon Originals? It comes with the Pumpkin Pie rick-rack in the set--5 yards of each ribbon, for a total of 10 yards (114316, $13.95).

Ooh! Look, it's more Pig Tails Ribbon Originals (the orange in the vase) plus the new Circle Scissor Plus (112530), the cute little 1/2" Library Clips (112581: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White in the bowl), and the Latte Buttons (114333). Oh! And don't miss the new White Organza Ribbon (114319)! These colors are all part of the new Retro Fresh Style Watch--I love it! Watch for more samples from me on this color scheme soon :-)

Let's see... then there are the new PUNCHES!! All fabulous, and all $15.95. There is the Eyelet Border (113692) at the bottom right, the Full Heart (113693) in the middle, and the Heart to Heart (113694) at the top, which of course is in the Love You Much product bundle this month, and part of my Love You Much class discount.

Scattered in there are also the new Jumbo Brads (112534 and 112533) in 5/16" and 5/8" sizes, plus the Valet Ribbon Originals in Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip(114318).

Big Bold Cupcake Sizzlits--my FAV!

What is better than babies or cupcakes? How about babies and cupcakes TOGETHER!? :-) Who can resist, really?

This page was shared at Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference last week, and I've been DYING to show you how cute it is...but had to wait til this week! So no, that cute baby is not my little Tucker (even though Tucker just turned 1, too!). But what a CUTE scrapbook page!

Check out the Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point together--what gorgeous In Colors. And you can even see the textured cardstock in action on these pages--a classy look.
But here is my FAVORITE part uses the Big Shot die-cut machine: it's the new Big Bold Cupcakes Sizzlit set (114509, $21.95). There are 4 dies--the frosting, the cupcake holder, the candles/heart/flower and the cute polka dots. I have already ordered this set and can't wait to use them myself!!
The alphabet here jumped out at me, too. It's the new Stampin' Up! Billboard sizzlit decorative strip (114510, $21.95). And really, only $21.95 for such a cute Stampin' Up! exclusive die?

Stamps in the Mail Club: Round 11

Isn't this a GORGEOUS stamp set?! I'm having so much fun playing with ideas. And you CAN sign up for the next round of my Stamps in the Mail Club! This will be my 11th round, and it features the Simple Friendship stamp set from the new Spring/Summer 2009 Catalog.

Stamps in the Mail Club lets you stamp at home with the benefit of pre-planned, pre-cut cards ready for you to stamp and assemble. As part of the club you'll get all the stamps and inks needed, plus a variety of matching accessory items--$35 in Stampin' Up! product each month. And if you already own an ink color or other item, you can substitute from your Wish List for the items you don't need.

Here's what Debbie K, a 9-round Stamps in the Mail Club subscriber had to say:
"I really enjoy the Stamps in the Mail Club because everything you need for a project or card is right there--everything is pre-cut. The directions are clear and easy, and then you have the directions that you can use on future projects. I love it."

And Dawn H, another Stamps in the Mail Club veteran shared this thought: "Stamps in the mail club is an awesome way to get creative ideas. A fabulous way to build up your supplies at little cost. Stamps in the mail is like taking a class, only you don't have to leave the comforts of your home. Everything is delivered to your door. I highly recommend Stamps in the mail! Besides the demonstrator is awesome!"

And as if that wasn't exciting enough, my Stamps in the Mail Club now features video tutorials for all of the kit projects! I look forward to sharing these extra lessons with you as part of the Club.

To sign up, visit my website and pay online for the first month or email me to sign up and send a check--the cost for Stamps in the Mail Club is $45 ($40 plus shipping) for each of the 3 months: February, March and April. Club fees are due by 5th of each month.

Be sure to visit the Big Shot section, starting at page 193. I'm so excited about the new dies and tools.
I have a wonderful project to share, straight from Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference last week. This little flower was created with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Cherry Blossom embosslit on page 202 (114516, $11.95) which means that the die not only cuts out the flower, it also embosses the edges and center! The cardstock was stamped with the dots from Itty Bitty Backgrounds before using the Big Shot.

Next take your Stampin' Pastels and color the raised parts of the flower.Isn't it cute?!
Then take your handy Crystal Effects and run Crystal Effects over all the places you added Stampn' Pastels. While the CE is still wet, sprinkle a little touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter over the top.

Add your embellishment to a card along with a Clear Rhinestone Brad--they're now available for order all on their own!! (113144--$10.95 for 84 brads)

It's coming soon... check back a 1 pm central time!

Cards for Soldiers Stationed Overseas

How would you like to receive a huge package of hand-stamped cards? Ever wonder what I do with those 1000's of card swaps that I make and display? Well here's the answer... many of them go to people who can use a smile and a ready-to-send greeting card.

This is a picture of the 40+ cards that I sent to the daughter of one of the demonstrators in my Stampin' Up! downline. She's stationed in Iraq right now, and her mom mentioned that she loves receiving packages.

As soon as she got the box, she told her mom that she LOVED the cards. She let other soldiers in her unit pick some, and she's going to use some herself. Either way, I'm thrilled that the cards are going to be used. There will be 2 smiles for each card sent...one by the soldier sending it, and another by the person receiving it.

If you'd like more information on how you can help by donating cards, a good website to check is http://www.cardsforheroes.org/

Hat Pin Love You Much Idea

This is a fabulous card that I saw at my friend Cheryl's house in Florida last week... isn't it GREAT? She used the Love You Much product bundle (Designer Paper, stamp set and punch) and accented the card with the hat pin from the Pretties Kit. The cool beads are from that kit, too.

More fun from the Leadership Conference

What a fun conference! Really, how many people get to say that they thoroughly enjoyed their business trip? I definitely count myself as lucky! :-) And I learned a lot too--many ideas that I plan to bring home to use in my stamp classes and clubs and with the demonstrators in my group.

The theme for Leadership was "Imagine the Possibilities" and I have to say that I've done little but imagine all the possibilities for cool projects with the new products in the catalog. Just ask everyone who attended my Stamp Club last night... I went on and on!
So want to hear some sneak peaks?!! You have to settle for hearing them rather than seeing them, as we're not allowed to post new catalog pictures until the catalog goes live on January 19th. But never fear, I have my posts ready to go on that day already!!

Let's see...what to share now? Hmm... how about NEW Big Shot Dies? There are many pages of them!! New CLEAR dies, so you can position your stamped images under the dies (think recipe card holders!), new BIGZ dies for cute boxes, and new dies for different occasions (my favorite is the cute cupcake, with separate frosting, candles and cupcake wrapper!). You're going to love these... if you don't have a Big Shot already, start planning now, because with all the new dies, you're going to want your own Big Shot! (and of course I can help you with that... ;-) Just click here for details on my Big Shot Club...

The new embellishments are fabulous, too... the new Retro Fresh Style Watch (those cool sections in the front of the catalog that show how the colors, stamps, accessories and tools go together) is like an 80's throwback, but much cooler than back in the 80's. Picture Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip, and then add those colors to CORDUROY BUTTONS! Yup, those corduroy buttons are in the catalog, along with other new fun toys... crocheted flowers, for one! I tell you... that catalog is gorgeous!

Oh, and did I mention that the food at Leadership is top-notch? Yum... those raspberries tasted even better than they look in the picture!!

Thursday, January 8, 2009

Fun from Leadership Conference

Okay... I've SEEN it!! Yes! The NEW Spring/Summer 2009 Stampin' Up! Catalog!! It's fabulous--there are so many cool new stamp sets (lots of good variety) and some gorgeous new embellishments. Yup, that's me on the right, and my wonderful downline Mary Ellen in the middle, and my friend Tami White on the left.Oooh... yummy new products!! These are available for ordering starting January 19th... so get your Wish Lists ready! You're going to love it all, I promise. Notice how you can't see anything in the catalog above? That's because I'm not allowed to share yet... you'll just have to wait until January 19th. Just think of how much you're going to want to see everything then!!

Can I just say that I'm having SO MUCH fun here? (oh, and learning things, too :-)
For example, last night we went to a Greek restaurant for dinner and I got to take an impromptu belly dancing lesson! I don't think I qualify to quit my day job though...
Then this morning I had an Advisory Board Alumni Breakfast to attend... 7 am was early, but the setting by the pool was beautiful and the food was well worth waking up in the dark! Then we had a full day of classes and Stampin' Up! announcements during the day. My favorite announcement was probably when Shelli Gardner told us that Stampin' Up! will be releasing a NEW digital scrapbooking program later this year. We got to see a special sneak preview, and I was really impressed by what I saw. Don't worry, Stampin' Up! is still going to carry stamps--they're just adding some cool supporting tools like this one! I can't wait to try it when it's finally ready for release :-)

And we also saw some NEW products, like the new Decor Element Stencils. Shelli demonstrated how to use them on the cover of a Stampin' Up! linen album with Craft Ink. It was gorgeous!! She also used the Craft Ink to dye the flowers from the Pretties Kit, plus added some Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware (it's on the Inventory Blowout Sale!) and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. (just wait... January 19th, I can show you the great pictures) Wow, can't wait to give this a try to jazz up some of my albums!

Then tonight Stampin' Up! took us to Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park for the Manager's Reception. All demonstrators with titles of Manager and above got to spend the evening riding rides, snacking on great food and playing in the arcade. Thank you Stampin' Up!

The highlight of my evening was riding the Incredible Hulk roller coaster (supposedly the #1 coaster in the country) FIFTEEN TIMES!! Yup, that was 15, each time with my fellow demonstrator, Jen Bailey, and Rich Jutkins from the Stampin' Up! corporate team. Crazy, but fun :-) If you want to see a video of the coaster in action, I found one on YouTube.
This is Jen and I, with Shelli Gardner. Shelli and her husband Sterling rode the coaster with us one of those 15 times. And here is the three of us...crazy coaster riders!! Stampin' Up! had rented out the park for us, so we got to ride over and over again... wow, but like I said, SO much fun!

Tomorrow we'll be back to business, but this was a great interlude! I tell you, being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator has some GREAT perks :-)

Pinch Me...I'm Dreaming

What is is with me and pictures of my feet this past week? :-) Anyway, I'm in Florida for Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference and I came 1 day early to meet up with my Advisory Board friends from last year.
And where would we meet, but Cheryl Flynn's house on the beach!! Look at this gorgeous sand--Cheryl tells us it's the nicest in the world. And I have to say, it's certainly the finest sand that I've put my toes in this winter!
This is what passes for a SNOWMAN in Florida...isn't he cute?
Yup, we loved our beach time... and then we went to the late-late night showing of Twilight... if you haven't read the book or seen the movie, I have to say that I've loved them. (and as an Advisory Board from last year we've become a little bit fanatic about them) If you run into her, be sure to ask Glenda HOW MANY times she's seen the movie. (hee hee)

Well, off to Orlando for Leadership!!
